Council on Professional Standards for Kinesiotherapy (COPS KT)

How to Become a Registered Kinesiotherapist

Certification

Registration by the Board of Registration for Kinesiotherapy (BoR-KT), of the Council on Professional Standards for Kinesiotherapy (COPS-KT) represents a personal commitment to excellence in the practice of rehabilitation. The guidelines and requirements for eligibility have been established by the Council, for the control and regulation of the profession. An individual practitioner can demonstrate his or her qualifications as a health care provider, by challenging and passing the registration examination. This ensures the consumer of rehabilitation exercise and education (the unique identifiers of Kinesiotherapy) that the techniques and protocols used to treat the effects of disease, injury and congenital disorders are the safest, most up-to-date, and effective tools available.

The benefits of registration include:
  1. Assurance of public confidence
  2. Enhancement of employment opportunities
  3. Assurance of latest and most effective treatment protocols
  4. Increased prestige among other allied health care professionals
  5. Promotion of the strength and development of the AKTA
  6. Enhancement of professional competence
