Education
ACCREDITED SCHOOLS
To
offer an officially accredited Kinesiotherapy program, a
college or university must apply to the Committee on
Accreditation of Education Programs for Kinesiotherapy (CoA-KT).
The CoA-KT will review and evaluate course offerings,
clinical training sites, affiliated personnel, faculty, and
resources to determine the degree to which the school meets
the Standards and
Guidelines for Accredited Educational Programs for
Kinesiotherapy. The CoA-KT will then make a recommendation
to the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education
Programs (CAAHEP), which is a national, voluntary, specialized
accreditation agency representing a broad range of health care
disciplines. It
is CAAHEP that gives accreditation to the Kinesiotherapy
Program. (www.caahep.org)
Education
programs are also listed in the annual Health Professions
Career and Education Directory, published by the American
